NOTES

Distilled water was used in this study instead of HHBSS to compare non-viable skin with the viable skin of the previous study. Integrity tests were performed with tritiated water prior to the experiment. Concentration applied was given as 32.1nmol/cm2. Extra experimental detail was obtained from ref no 40. % penetrated is the amount found in the receptor fluid and the amount recovered in the skin discs after washing. n was actually given as >5 cells
