NOTES

Caucasian skin was obtained at autopsy and was stored at -24oC until use. A saturated solution of mannitol in 50% aq. Dimethyisosorbide was added to the donor chamber. 15 mcrl was added originally but the donor solution was frequently replaced. S-s flux was given as 26E-11 g/cm2/s. The mixture reached steady state after approximately 25h. The cells were occluded with glass cover slips
