NOTES

Female Colworth Wistar Rats were used. The soap solution was made by adding dodecanoic acid into a Duall glass homogeniser with excess diethyl ether which was removed un a stream of nitrogen. Dilute NaOH was added, the resulting solution was homogenised and equilabrated for 245h at 40oC before adjusting the pH to 9.5
